Tried a 3 day trial (included with 1 year subcription), i cancelled before the end of the trial period with the intention of buying a 2 year plan from their site because it is cheaper there. However, I was charged for the 1 year plan the next day and my vpn is deactivated nonetheless with no refund option from google play store. the PC app started showing popup ads on my computer, I had 3 in less than 5 minutes, just before i wrote this review. I have used this for years with no problems, but after my latest yearly subscription i am getting popup ads daily.. Of the few VPNs I've tried over the past year, CyberGhost is the worst of them. They are truly an infuriating "company" that has never responded to any of my emails. My connection is Dallas and websites are telling me I'm in Europe. Google is CONSTANTLY making me do the CAPTCHA challenge. They cost so little because they don't have the manpower to provide any support. Don't pay them the annual payment until you're 100% certain they work for you. One problem after the other w/ this service.. Was a paying customer however turning off the autopay renewal function is very complex and keeps changing back to 'on'. This has happened so often that I will no longer trust my cc details with this company.. App runs in the background all the time! Unable to turn off. The only way is to uninstall the app. Does it even if you turn off location permissions..

Also, sometimes my internet connection is lost completely (no Whatsapp messages arriving etc.), which can be fixed by reconnectinf but it's annoying because one does not notice. Also, since the last update it drains my battery, even without the VPN active (20% from full charge just for it being open in the background, without active VPN connection). Absolute horrible experience. Firstly, the app didn't do what it was supposed to. Secondly, they charged me for a whole year even after I cancelled just couple of hours after starting the trial period(the 3 day free trial period). And now google isn't recognising the purchase and I'm not getting my refund.. I believe it does what it should in it core configuration. Some annoyances are that it collides with my Android firewall (which also works by tunnelling connections) so only one can function at a time. Also, be aware that this software can prevent you from seeing hosts on the local network such as printers..

The app is great, but they make it impossible to cancel your subscription. I just changed my password to access my account to cancel my subscription. They want you to find your purchase invoice through your account. And my account doesn't recognize the password I just changed it to. So, if this doesn't get cancelled by march 11th, I'm refusing payment through my bank. Sorry, but it's unacceptable.. Stopped working. 99% ip's are blacklisted so save yourself from blacklisting on most of the websites also even dedicated ip is useless i paid for 2 year and instead of European dedicated ip got blacklisted ip from some non eu country wasted all content because of cyberghost.. Can no longer log in and use app, even though I have been billed several months app says it cannot verify my Google purchase and will not let me log in, waste of money use a different VPN.
