Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade for Android is a continuation of the popular series of action games dedicated to the legendary Warhammer universe. It would seem that the virtual universe is ideal for game projects of various themes and genres. Almost all aspects have been worked out for a long time and repeatedly, and to create a really high-quality project, it remains to pay attention only to the gameplay. But unfortunately, in the case of Freeblade, the developers were not able to take full advantage of the richness of the multifaceted universe.

The game is ambivalent. On the one hand, Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade is a good example of how far mobile gaming has come. Freeblade is based on 3D touch technology, which means new features, realistic high-quality graphics. On the other hand, the project was not without annoying factors, namely, intrusive monetization.

This is a fantasy rail shooter with action elements. Playing as a huge imperial knight, which, in fact, is a powerful combat unit, you have to crush, destroy, exterminate enemy forces – orcs, chaosites and other fantasy villains. At the beginning of the game, you should decide on the appearance of your character. You can color each part of the combat robot. Although at the initial levels, the choice of colors in the editor is limited. You can open access to a more diverse design for real money or for ore received for completing missions.

Several types of weapons are provided for battles: light rapid-fire, homing guns, heavy weapons (thermal weapons, mega-machine guns). Light guns are suitable for destroying orcs, buggies and other small targets. Heavy weapons – for the destruction of armored vehicles. But you need to take into account the duration of the recharge. Homing cannons are the most effective type of weapon for destroying any targets. Minus – a long reload, limited ammunition.
The right choice of weapons and equipment is the key to successful completion of missions.

It will take time and ore, which is the local game currency, to acquire new weapons, improve equipment. New equipment can be found on the battlefields. Ore is earned after completing missions. You can get improvements, upgrades, speed up the process of smelting uniforms for gold purchased with real money.

In terms of graphics, visual design, voice acting, Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade looks quite impressive. All the good things that the new project received were transferred from the original source. Everything else is a significant downside. According to critics, the game project came out pretty boring. Despite the fact that each level is filled with a ton of action, there is always someone and something to shoot at, there is no freedom of movement in the game. And it’s really annoying. The levels are short and monotonous. The characters are similar and predictable. Even battles between giant military robots look insipid and boring. It is not possible to pass higher levels immediately. It requires constant repair and upgrade of the character, which requires an investment of money. Without a donation, you have to put up with different timers.
