In the beginning, you will have empty hands and a small patch of territory. There are a lot of opportunities: for development, you can use more than 100 different buildings and use more than 80 different units. In addition, technology can speed up the development process several times. Having researched all 50 technologies, the empire will reach its maximum development, but will there be enough resources and fighters to protect what has been built?
The variety of combat units is pleasantly surprising: you can recruit not only magicians of fire and ice, but also samurai, Vikings and even winged hussars into the army. Each fighter can be improved, and the spells used by their magical representatives can be modified. All this adds several important percentages to the indicator of combat power, from which the entire combat system is built.
There are several modes in the game, but the single-player version has more than 250 different maps to play through. When fighting in multiplayer, players get on one common map, where all the main battles take place. Multiplayer Age of Strategy is based on team interaction. Players from the same squad can share units or resources with each other in order to more efficiently move up the technology tree.
The built-in map editor adds a replay value option to the game. You can edit not only ready-made maps, but also create your own using classic blanks. After creating a certain level, it can be uploaded to a common database, in which any player can test missions from other users.
