I've played this game since the 2016/17 Vende Globe. I love how it takes you to different parts of the world & how it has some very long gradual races. I also like how you can compare yourself to real racers when a real race happens.. Fun if you enjoy the tactics of offshore racing Used to be able to update the boats course even when no internet available, but now game refuses to load without internet, downgrading to 1 star. A great game play for free is an option and my choice plenty of teams to join, look for fb group options. It's taking some time to get to grips with what all it does. Some buttons I have no idea of what they represent and nothing appears to happen when touched. Enjoying it though and hopefully it'll improve as I hopefully improve.. I purchased a 3 months VIP membership. Still waiting for the upgrade after two months. No answer from the developers yet..
Game was pretty good up until the express routing ran me aground. Trying to set up new express routes again seems to want to take me over land! It is also very pay to win, no real chance of getting new in game currency.. i play with a simple smartphone from Namibia countryside. Hence network and data is limited, 3D or similar upgrades are not necessary and still i enjoy to race along. With common sense and little money i still cope well compared to upgraded players. Well done game for many years!. The idea is great. It is costly to do occasionally races if you want a full boat and navigational ability. For a regular participant the subscription are ok.. The pay to win stuff sucks, so I am never going to win a race, but i enjoy it anyway. But there is no way to progress, unless your lucky enough to be able spend lots of real life money on the game. (Even virtual sailing is a rich man's hobby!) You can never improve your boat. You always start a race with it stripped of any stuff you had for the last race. So it's a pay to win no progression game & you really need to like the basic game to play it..
Sometimes you cant log in, runs you aground when boat sail under you, and it changes your course at the start. Changing my review. Hey, how about getting pestered with pop ups every second? It was a cool game but its turned into pay to win. Used to be simple with optional.payments, now its more persistent than a real eastate agent. Why not just charge $20 for the game per year or something. This game has been ruined.. The first game of the Weekend Elite series was a joke and an absolute waste of 500 credits. The new platform that you are testing has so many bugs it is impossible to play. The information of TWA didnt match the wind angle arrows so you really had no idea what angle you were actually sailing so I did it all by straight line sailing and still it went wrong with the course being altered somewhere in the middle automatically. I went aground twice on islands not on my line. REFUND MY CREDITS PLEAS. Buggy mess.. tapping a race often fails to load, dumps you back to home screen. or loads with missing UI. UI almost always bugs out when navigating (which is basically 100% of the game). they should not give away a watch as a prize,...please sell it and use the money to pay competant developers. servers are on not even online now...what a mess...who would pay for this??? especially the insane real money prices they ask for things..
Used to be fantastic but it is now just full of glitches to the extent it is unplayable. Sad to see.. this game is great but it's turning into a pay to win model, I get they need money to keep the game up and running but this pay to win thing is unacceptable. I hope the devs will run this pay to win thing back and come up with a solution to getting in game currency without paying. Absolute pay to win. I played this for years and was very addicted. It was costing me 100's of dollars. Its definitely rigged in many areas. Boat speeds and sail selection are extremely unrealistic, but they suck you in somehow. Oh that's right, it is owned by an online Casino. Their support is appalling to say the least. I finally have money again by not using this application.. Great game. I was able to modify the boat by buying new sails. Using in game coins. I don't know if it's just a beginner thing or not..
Done with my first race! 3 days with an imoc. I could change different sails, because they gave me in game credit. I hope it's not just for new users.. Tres bon jeux, surtout quand on ne peux pas naviguer. Parfois difficile de jouer quand le reseau internet est lent. 2016: This is my third "Virtual" Vende Globe.... It is improving tremendously. This is close to VR. PS(2023) :Since the early days, there seem to be some quirks creeping into the software!?! When launching a race, one gets kicked out back into the menu. Or when in a race, the setting of waypoints seems to provide erratic time estimations (jumping back and forth). When in 3d mode, I've seen a boat move sideways! So please keep your standards & releases as high quality as possible. Best. Used to be really good, then they decided the only improvements would be towards monetising. They bombard you with pop-ups asking you to upgrade, they only show full packs once you've already paid for part of the pack. I'm already paying a decent amount, I don't want to be pushed towards paying more all the time..
Don't waste your time. The game is pay to win and the way ads are implemented completely breaks the game. I don't mind seeing ads, but I've never seen anything this poorly designed - the ads make it impossible to play.. Dissapointed now full of ads which crash the game so now is a real struggle to play at all after 2 years of playing fed up. Used to be an enjoyable game, but now full of flaws, e.g. you cannot rely on routing, not even with solid waypoints to avoid grounding when sailing close to shore... Very annoying!. 5 for the enjoyment and realism in navigating an offshore race. Got hooked. There are some glitches, but minor compared to the experience. I love the game and the principle behind it, but I gave it an average score for one reason: when you programme a boat, with points rotating at specific times, the game doesn't take into account and you end up stranded for no reason at all the same goes for setting off again once you're stranded, the points are programmed but in the end you've moved forward a few metres only to end up stranded. It's a very annoying bug that I've never encountered before, but it's becoming more and more common.. Je suis du je m'amusais normment mais je ne sais pas pourquoi ds que je vais sur une course un pub se lance (ok pas de soucis) mais en quittant la pub l'appli bug et je dois relancer l'appli. Sauf que je suis dans une boucle car la pub revient a chaque fois ! Bon jeu mais l je suis dgot.. Best game but you should fix your servers I think ,graphics are good but could've been better specially water quality. Too many anoying and abusive ads :). There's a bug when setting the course. Often it does not apply the heading. Also a bug at applying autosails. The confirmation button does not do the apply... Otherwise a Great game..
Game is good, however, the devs have not tested it properly on older phones. Adverts work fine on lots of other apps, but their implementation of them on this app breaks the game. It takes ten to fifteen attempts to load the game before you get an advert free login. Otherwise the advert crashes the app. Other apps succeed where this one fails unfortunately.. It's good fun, and it doesn't take all your time. For me, it is good to find a game like this. Love the real weather allows you to plan your route. Knowing something about the sailing helps . This is a terrible game with blatant cash-grab microtransactions. The sailing is not very realistic, and the 'upgrades' are laughable. If you don't buy the nav package the game is just unplayable as you will run around over night without the extra way markers.. I used to enjoy this game, but now it has the most horrible type of ads (the ones you need to close 5 times and throw you out of the game) I'm sticking to the web version on PC where I have total control over the amount of ads I see. Also this game is turning into a pay to win model which I never support. Luckily I own a real sailboat and the season is starting soon!.
Ads everywhere, just by logging in The problem is that if the ad crashes you have to restart everything Super annoying when attempting to plan a route where you have to see 7 30 sec ads, and if you get stuck in the 5th... bad luck... you have to watch them all again Please add a one time payment feature to remove ads. Pay to win. You have to pay an extortionate amount to unlock a full kit for each race. The amount of credit they give you for each race allows you to unlock one feature. The ads are annoying and are often buggy to the point you can't close them.. Beats me why you get penalized for maneuvering your boat. As a sailor the effort required to alter the boats course is less "tiresome" than making a cup of coffee unless your tacking or gybing away over say 40 degrees. On occasion your energy just evaporates without doing anything, you can hit rocks when the way is supposedly clear ....surely addictive and has some clever features but let's make it more " Reality"!. Love it. The mods can be a bit expensive, and it's hard to compete with those who can afford to pay. Don't mind the ads as an alternative to paying real money for additional features - would love to see more access via this payment method, but it's a serious time sink. The forced ads are annoying though..
It has been awhile since I last raced and it still is a lot of fun. I need to understand all of the ratings and numbers next to your name, where can I get that Information from?. I like the cut of this games jib. No ads and if you kind of know sailing is easy to master.. This was a fun game the last Volvo Ocean Race, and it still is, but now after you play a day or 2 they force you to watch full screen 30s ads for other dumb games, and the X btn is so tiny so I go to the play store every time. I don't mind the in-game push to spend $ on in-app upgrades but the ads for other games ruin the experience.. New ads crash the app. The video ad that appears every time you want to check your boat is super annoying. Also, when you want to get +4h of auto sails and you choose to watch an ad, the app always crashes after showing the ad.
Pay to play, real shame. You can't compete with the main players without having to open the wallet. There is minimal free options (eg programming is free but your constantly watching ads to get them) you only start with a minger amount of credits but that only gets you so far.. Today - trying to reinstall the app, it download 100% but is not installing /// [2018] To be honest, last game campaign was better; the credits options are an issue (some options are overvalued and sometimes while viewing or reading about the credits, it charge you for the credits and it can't be cancelled, etc); I'm not sure the game has been updated to be played in Samsung Galaxy Note 8 (I installed it, logged in, access the game, but I can't exit it...I have to kill the app to exit it).. Sadly this game has never been the same since it was exclusively web based. The UI is so clunky it is unplayable. Absolutey gutted, was really excited about the start of The Ocean Race :(. Great game. Wonderful to experience the Sydney Hobart virtual in real time. But guys, those ads are very annoying... Noisy time delay ads and double ads for the same thing almost every time I open. The ads are also a mix of age innappropriate and toddler games. This is will make me unintall soon..
Since introduction of ads, playing this game is just extremely annoying. Game is crashing while setting up your rout and guess what? You need to watch the add again, and again, and again. I don't mind watching them but ffs... Watching it every single time you open the game is too much!. Nice game but some bugs make your virtual boat lose time/speed/rankings. They've been here for some time and reported, but the programmers don't seem to care. Plus, many top players use external pro navigation tools. So don't expect to be within the top 15% of any race if you don't use these. And why am I prompted to accept or refuse personal data collection EVERY time I start the game? Why can't my answer be memorised once for all?. The game itself is fun. However, the premium content is very overpriced. Like 20 every few days depending on how many races you participate. Some premium content can be replaced by endlessly watching ads every few hours.. I am leaving the game as now the purpose of the game is to get us to spend money. Reduce the amount of coins that can be gained, increase the cost of everything, remove the possibility of upgrading using advertising. I removed the app after being a user for the past 5 years or so..
Sympas au dbut sans les pubs, mais passer quelque jours il te bombarde de pub, autant les pub optionnel pour les bonus ponctuels Ok, mais l... Sans compter les bugs qui te font perdre tous tes waypoints et t'oblige te retaper les pubs pour refaire tes waypoint.... This game is free to play but it is definitely pay to even be competitive and that isn't cheap at 18 a race. Recently they started making me watch ads just to log on and make course corrections. If you know how to navigate and don't pay then expect at best to finish top 20%. I am on leg 5 of an 8 race series when the series is over I am done with this game.. Tellement de pubs... C'est insupportable ! Et je ne parle mme pas du systme pay-to-win. Tout a pour des serveurs qui buggent chaque course !. Guys, stop everything. Erase all. Restart from scratch and copy an app like MPG. Gaming experience is terrible, fully buggy with extremely annoying adds..
Le jeu beug de plus en plus et les publicits deviennent trs trs prsentes, au point de rduire le nombre de visites et donc souvent d avoir des performances moindre. C est dommage parceque c tait un trs bon jeu.. great game now ruined by gambling and kids game adverts. . .why? If you are going to put ads in make them relevant to the sport, get yachting companies to advertise. Once the gambling/gaming ads appear it is near impossible to get back to the race - most times have to re start the game. Surely with all the problems people have with with gambling, this is the last thing you need to need to support.. Full of ads each time you open your race. After so many years on this game, I will delete it after my current race.. Biggest money heist scam game out there. Extremely addictive but its not worth you going broke over or in some cases losing your house car or even your wife!! Its about as realistic as santa clause and is rigged to the max. The more money you spend the faster your boat goes. It used to be a good fun game. Stay away from it unless you like bankruptcy..
full of ads.... game always crash because of the ads with embeded scripts rerouting you to other site... un installing.... Calming game, simple to learn but has a lot of technology built into it. I love seeing the real boat locations and the real weather.. Update Nov 2022: obnoxious ads, unable to play game until after watching it. Update Jan 2021: Horrible experience now. Keeps disconnecting while trying to play. If you can't handle additional traffic/players, just bring me to the basic functions. It's super annoying anyway that I have to watch the 3D view and my complete trajectory since the race started before I can get to what I actually want to do when connecting.. Abonnement VIP absolument inutile, l'application est truffe de bug, personne ne rpond aux demandes. Jouez gratuitement mais ne payez aucune option sinon vous allez tre dus. Ah oui, si vous prenez un abo VIP sans passer par Google ou Apple, donc en direct avec l'diteur, il n'y a aucun moyen d'annuler l'abonnement et donc celui-ci ser reconduit automatiquement ! Played for several years since I retired from actual sailing a Farr 40 racing yacht. Gives me much pleasure and great memories. I've been playing Virtual Regatta from the days when it was exclusively a web-based computer game. It successfully managed the transition to app, and there's always a fresh challenge to get your boat ready for. Strikes the right balance between realism and not being overly-technical. That said, there's plenty of features and layers (including third party utilities) to indulge your wildest ocean racing fantasies. Best substitute for not having access to the real thing. I love it.. Contacting the team is near impossible, they take days to respond. Im hoping this will help. ... PLEASE RESTORE KOTARE'S VIP STATUS ASAP, YOU TOOK MY MONEY BUT DIDNT LOAD THE VIP and your help section is totally unhelpful!. Would be a marvelous game but ocasionaly stops, freeze, becoming unresponsive and simply rubbish as when I sailed past island just to discover that game must put me back as I've found myself aground few miles backward of last position..
Now you can only be good in this game if you pay pay pay. Before, it wasn't just pay to win. Was working fine until I did the update August 1. Now it just keeps telling me to reload the game. Can't access the game at all!!. Great game i really enjoy it. Any chance you could get this on the Oculus Quest id luv to be able to just chill on my boat racing along. Works well with Marineverse Cup i just wish that was more like this with off shore instead of in shore racing.. Everything is great. One small issue is that there are only Races to participate in, why not add a Free mode to sail the seas without racing people..
Quite good. And I'm difficult to please. It would be good to have some shorter races.. and perhaps they could be divided into ranking classes... but still a really satisfying yacht racing game requiring all the attention to detail of the real thing.. I've player this before, though even though I've just reset my password and am literally copy and pasting what the password it, it doesn't let me sign in. (Edit: I tried a few things yet it didn't work, so now I just have separate accounts, probably just I've done something wrong lol) aside from that, it's really fun, and quite realistic..
