Had this game for almost 5 yrs .. just deleted it, as most here say it takes pay to win to really advance otherwise you'll just tread water in all star 4 league .. the concept is good, just got too monotonous daily to never advance anywhere .... Unstable ap. Very. I also just want a way to "pause" the game. Sometimes I travel to areas without signal, and I guess I just have to accept that all of the effort that I put into winning is for nothing when I return. The AI and game continue to play, even when you aren't able to use it. You miss out on rewards, and your team is affected by low energy and morale if you lose a game...causing more of the same in a spiraling effect if you don't have a signal and can't keep up every 8 hours.. Latest update is annoying with the big "Pay To Win" ad right in the way of the far right tab items with no X to clear it. Really making it hard not to delete now just for that 1 addition that is 100% unnecessary!. as fun as watching paint dry unless you spend. I played this for about 3 months and it got back shelfed for a baseball game. imagine that a Canadian that decided a baseball game was more fun..... Was fun to play at 1st, then just demands money. It's impossibly slow to progress without dumping tons of actual money to buy packs just to stay competitive. It takes the fun out of the game....
I really enjoy it. Becoming a hockey manager, and creating your own team is what I never would have expected.. great game been playing for years. have not been able to login as I have to have a new password, so I try to do the forgot password and send it but I get server error. It has been 3 days now.. Great game, very engaging. My only issue is with the updates, they don't always make the game more player friendly.. I enjoy it. Better than most hockey sims I've played. The only minus is it doesn't allow you to change player names, but it's still worth your time..

Great game, been playing for years. Support is outstanding and you need to make sure to join the Facebook group as there is a awesome group of players there and support is on point. Game finally works. I wish you guys could make some changes to gameplay to include trades, custom contacts, cap limits and drafting. That would take this to another level. The game is a scam. Rigged from beginning to end. I think it is criminal as you win when they want and lose when they want. Fo not installed this game. They are crooks.
Not sure what happened, but I'm being asked to update the app. Yet, there's no update. I can't login, open the app, nothin. Now, all my work to be where I'm at...goin away. Normal enjoy the app. Unfortunately, this happens periodically. Hopefully i can get into the app in a day or so - as have done previously when this happens.. New review: Recent version update error, tells me to get new version, I install latest version from PlayStore and it tells me to get new version! Maddening! And I'm probably losing players off contract while I can't reconnect! Old review: Recent game updates have turned this heavily into a pay to play game. If you don't pay up, you won't be competitive. Weekend team social rewards have been downgraded several times and your team will end up completely injured with no healing cards available.. Says I need to update the app, but there is no update. Now I can't get into the game after playing this stupid game for several years. Bogus.. Haven't been able to log on all day. No explanation. Just got stuck in a loop saying I have to download a new version but google says I have the latest version. If it were an accident or a mistake no problem, but unfortunately this happens regularly. I have cleared the app cache, cleared the Google play cache nothing. Never had this problem with any other app in Google play store ever, but this one it happens every upgrade..
Hasn't let me play for a day. It says I need to update but I currently have the most up to date version as downloaded from both Google play store and gold towns website.. Game is asking me to update but there is no updates available. Can't play it now and will lose my daily streak for training.. idk how many times I've lost out on rewards and lost matches because I go to log in during the morning and it tells me to download the new version. but there isn't a new version to download. now I go from first place down to 7th and lose a bunch of coins which are high value. I've been playing this for over 2 years and I think I might be nearing the end with it. The latest update makes this game unplayable. I cannot connect to their server. This Stupid company updates the game before the update is approved by Google making the game on playable....
2/20/23 I can't open the app because it says there is a new updated version in the play store. When I get here, my only options are 'play' or 'uninstall' and says the last update occurred in December of last year.. I cant login as it says I am from another device. I dont have another device. 24.07.2020 - Cant play games due to data being unavailable... ? 2023 - cant use from update. Restarted phone etc and wont reconnect. So cant train team, re-sign players etc. Can I get 5 80+ players and a days equivalent income with max win points please?. Enjoying it but reason not 5 stars is how they messed up hockey coaches by adding ridiculous amounts of money they need to be paid. I play without and see no difference so I say don't bother unless they remove their ridiculous salary higher than players and 35 gold Game became unstable more with every patch now says there's a new version and it doesn't show to update game no longer works. It says that there are new version available, but I cannot download the latest version. So, it does not let me in the game any more.
I like this app so far. It took me a little while to figure out how to navigate irate it. The (i) icons were huge for learning. I do wish the was a more detailed encyclopedia for the game. A single reference point kind of thing. Also a way to "redesign" my team. I regret the name and emblem I chose at the start. But over all I really like this app. My advice to newbies is stick with it. As u learn and understand it, it really starts to get better!. Fun little game to play. Construction time after level 2 is a bit long but most games are. Otherwise fun game.. Wish there was a bit more that you could do, you can only really do the 7wins for pack, train, and get sponsor rewards(every so many hours)... sometimes feels like you're stuck because of limited cash/ways to earn it, and if you wanna grind games out you gotta watch ads or spend money(spending money doesn't remove ads for you either). Other than that, pretty solid game. The reason I got this is bc of Travis Ridgen aka Trav4Oliers so shout out to him you need to give him more money..
Update again tonight but no update available for download yet. I enjoy the game but I do wish when there is an update it wouldn't take so long to show up on Google Play. Maybe don't push an update live until it's available to download from the store.. You will get bored of this game long, long before you have a strong team and a nice big, new arena.. I think it is a great hockey game and everone that plays hockey should know about it and love it Amazing game!. I really loved this game up until recently when it seems I'm losing every match even when I'm playing against teams where I'm at least 10 points better in every category. Lost every match today and every single team was rated lower so seems a completely pointless waste on time. Don't think I'll be bothering with it any longer..
Went to create a team. Put in Queen City Knights, told me I couldn't use it because of profanity. Umm. What? Where's the profanity?. The game I thought would be good. It's not. I get 6-8 penalties a game!!! Not even minor hockey teams average that many. I played hockey so it's not that hard to maintain composure. And I constantly lose to teams worse than me no matter what I do. The game is a joke. Constantly outshot also.. Great game even free to play. If you wanna go for the cream of the crop you drop a little but the game model is fantastic in my opinion.. Enjoyable game, but getting really fed up now. Game crashes constantly, usually when watching re-energy videos. Will give it another week then uninstall for me..
played when first came out and it's still garbage. how am I losing 3 times in a row to teams I should be beating 10-0. game is a joke. The game was kinda fun at first, but then it just got boring. Changing tactics seemed to have no effect and was also pointless because you had no idea what the other team was doing. If you missed playing the game just one day, you could lose players on your team due to the contract being up. I really wanted to have a good time with this game, I played it for quite some time, but at the end, it felt more like a hassle and less like it was fun.. Have been playing this game for a while now. It's addictive once you start winning & moving up through the different leagues. You don't need to spend to move on either.. The game is like European football I guess where you take the same team and get promoted to the next league when you win. At lower levels you wont be able to resign the great players you develop and unlike the Edmonton Oilers of the 90s you cant trade them away for draft picks....
Energy levels are a bit slow, but other than that gameplay is cool. Tutorial could be more useful. Update 06/29/22: The energy regens are the same, but the ads make it better. Rewards for the weekend are a little weak but managable. The biggest issue is injuries. They need to be reworked.. Great game. Bit of a learning curve you need to learn the underlying mechanics of the game. But a good game. Still lots of room to grow and I personally have a few ideas if a developer wants to hear them?. It would be fine, but the glitches are ridiculous. I literally cant even play it because of how choppy it runs. It would also be cool if you could have real players. But the game itself wont even run, so what would be the point I guess??. Decent game. Slow progress but it's solid. Biggest drawbacks are the expensive contracts for your better players. Can only afford to sign them to 1 year deals as the rewards aren't sufficient enough to sign them to longer contracts. The Academy players very rarely develop into contributing players once you hit the All Star leagues as they don't develop fast enough. Lastly when you sign a free agent in transfer there's no way of knowing if that player fits your team scheme..
I like this game very much. I just wish you could somehow gain more money. It's really hard to extend the contracts of your good players because they're really expensive and you only get money from your sponsors or home games, which is not much. You have to let some good players go, even if you don't want to which is really sad. Otherwise I love this game.. Can anyone tell me how I use my special skills upgrades I have 1 of each but don't know how they are used. Its not user friendly at all. I Havent even got to pla the game. I wait and wait and wait for it to load nad it just stays at 75%.. Great game, lots to figure out. I've never spent more than 2.99 on a game and this one I've spent quite a bit, worth the fun. And I only started this game in Nov 2021..
Hope they don't do an update before the store gets it or you won't be able to play. Been trying to play but keeps saying I need to update in the store when I go to the store it says it doesn't need to update. Used to be a Great game, but they have cut back heavily on rewards and have Made it difficult to get ahead. It's ok to make money from players, but it should be fully possible to play the game without paying. Getting towards the end of my tolerance for this. Edit2: at this point, the game is a waste of my time. I keep getting relegated and promoted between allstar leagues. Ridiculous. Uninstalling. Interesting game. Some nice features in building up not only your team but franchise as well. It is disappointing the match making is broken. 30% of time you are matched against teams that are impossible to beat, 30 OVR vs 55 OVR. There is no way to forfeit, so you are forced to watch your team lose 10 -1.... Totally unrealistic. If you play against a better team ( higher ranking ) you will never win. However are you playing against a team with lower ranking you can actually lose to that team. Don't play don't download waste of good time..
I re-installed this game today and it's very in depth and fun to play .. but you can only play one game a day (which is realistic) but kind of limits the amount of game play one can do in a day. Hello. Your support team has most likely been slammed with emails about the recent update.I can attest to the unfairness of the update. it is to be that I could average 400 to 600 coins a weekend for just 70 wins. I seem to work harder and longer just to make 100 coins for 70 wins. And wow! I see in some aspects that the "rewards" are more, the top teams now benefit as well. Great for the competition, not so great for others. BOOOOO!. Played for several years and now stuck in a holding pattern as the upgrades to academy and training are too expensive to complete while fielding a middle of the pack team.. Game tends to be updated a lot personalities and players tend to vary.frustrating when team changes for no reason. Is expense to play at higher levels.game.
I loved this game but the last update killed the fun. The change to the social packs and social league prizes is pitiful. It seems like it just became a money grabber.. You've got a good structure going for this game, that doesn't win the crowd over... The basic of what I see is probably the most obvious to most. while the players are on the ice, some players pops up, then the opponent players pops up. Nothing really telling the player what is going on here. There is no choice of a "Time-Out!!!" How is a player supposed to switch up the game as a manager, if the manager cannot manage the game? There's no managing choices during periods. As a manager.... New "update" took incentives away to play the big weekend event, pushing closer to pay-to-play. Devs in the newest couple reviews mention's, the "coin reward increase" while leaving out, that they removed, arguably depending on your team, the more important reward, the card pack. Devs maked it a rewardless grind to continue pushing on weekends, because less motivation to push means, in reality, less coins, you then can't buy players anymore.. Game was good until the update for social league which now makes the "New and Improved" rewards a lot less. Not much incentive to play social league anymore nevermind be in a group.
Really disappointed in the new update social weekend is now terrible with no cards. They now only want you to pay to play. Almost 2 years worth of playing and I'm probably done with this app!. Its a great way to spend your time while pooping or with your inlaws. If you love hockey and not your wifes extended family this is the game for you!. you updated a screwed ut up say new version available hit ok then takes me to play store to play or uninstall. Great game but the energy system needs to be changed. It takes almost the whole day for it to recharge by itself. There needs to be either a place where you can play for for cash without using energy, and have the career option that uses energy, or make the energy recharge way way quicker. I'd to play alot more but most of the time when I open the game, there nothing to do because I have no energy or morale. I understand they want to sell stuff in the store but I'd like to play a few games.
The new update has basically made this a pay-to-win game by forcing us to spend 85% of our budget just to have a good coach. Even with your resources maxed out, there is no longer a way to maintain a high-caliber team with the funds available. After 4 years of playing, I guess I'm done. It was fun while it lasted.. Adding coach contracts while not adjusting game finance system has broken the game. Completely stupid change to spring on players. Will probably uninstall and stop playing.. SUCKS!!!! This game/app used to be pretty decent. UPDATE again 10/7/2021 Now when I go to play it says there's a new version and to update. Go to the play store and theres NO update. So......NOW I CANT EVEN PLAY MY GAME BECAUSE IT KEEPS SAYING TO UPDATE AND THERES NO UPDATE TO UPDATE IT WITH SO PLEASE.....FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER .....figure it out please.. With the latest update I am downgrading this further to 2 stars. The "chemistry" feature is over complicated nonsense that detracts from the fun and simple game. My head coach has been randomly fired and I'd have to fork out big wages now to replace them. Very close to deleting the app after a couple of years of playing, but going to see if I can still compete without utilising the new features..
This game was awesome to begin with, got worse after making it pay to win and has slowly evened out the balance between paying and grinding. It is a good time waster though..
