I truly enjoy this game and was able to play it on my phone. But now I am not able to because my phone is new. I had the same exactake and model phone as the old one and it played just fine.. Plays relatively well until you try to generate scenarios. Even if you completely disable a victory type such as "domination" the AI players will continue to defeat you via victory type "domination" even when they obviously do not meet the requirements for said victory type. The other victory types seem to obey the allowed types for the scenario.. I can't believe how long I've played this game. Sometimes I go years without playing before coming back and being addicted again. The same things always make me quit playing though: the weird cheats the computer gets. Like when it takes your city even though you have multiple units there and it somehow only has to defeat one of them. Or when the autocomplete ends your turn without giving you the chance to use your ranged city attack..
Paid for the game, and the game won't even open. Says the game was made for an older version of my phone. In the description for the game, it says the app is compatible with my phone. An update should be made for this 10 year old game if you are going to charge money or take it off the Play Store. My hard earned money was flushed down the toilet.. Running android 13, I have experienced none of the issues around crashing, glitching or failure to save. Loved this game on PS3 and still love this version. Yes, the maps are too small, and yes, you can't bribe other civs to go to war, but hey, it's a mobile game after all and therefore doesn't have all the features of a pc or console version-I knew that going in....
Imagine spending time getting used to a game. You work up through the difficulties and put time into the game and start developing strategies only for the game to decide the game ends in 5 turns the player with the highest score is the winner! Theres a special place in hell for whoever came up with that idea. Dont waste your time with this game. I should decide when the game end's. I regret paying for it!. If you play on a Motorola your lucky, Install it. If you play it on other devices, beg 2k to make more updates. Edit: what I meant with that is, on my Motorola g5 it worked don't know about other phones. I don't have that phone anymore.
Great Basic intro to Civ. If your looking for something not too challenging compared to the full Civ entries this would be a good start. My main gripe is the same as another commenters the AI doesn't seem to care about one another, so you get teamed up on. My recommendation is build a boat go explore and get the boosts before any AI can. It gives you a rocket start.. I used to love playing the Civilization games for computer when I was a kid, and frankly, this is basically a nostalgic computer game for your phone. There have been no updates since 2014! The devs haven't realized that in order to remain relevant and to attract new and keep current players, you need to release incremental updates with new material...like all other mobile games! Would it hurt them to add a few new civs? Or leaders? Or modify the map? Or add new tile types? I dunno..
It's deceptively shallow. The AI will not acknowledge eachothers existence, meaning you are basically always in a 4v1 and can't bribe the AI to attack eachother. The auto move feature is going to ruin turns as there is no way to cancel a move that has been preset. The pathfinding can be abysmal for long moves which also contributes to the auto move feature. It's a battery drainer. All that being said it still has the spirit of civ. I have enjoyed a lot of my playtime (20 hrs+) with this game.. Still playing years later, I miss when all games were like this. Pay up front and not have to deal with micro transactions and trying to force you to watch videos constantly. Not as good as the actual computer game but a great mobile game!.
This was an absolutely amazing game for its time, and I believe it still is to this day. My hopes are they'll continue to work on and update the game to work on newer phones and systems. I'd give it 4 stars because I purchased the new S23 Ultra and it needs an update to play, but there is none yet, and that'd be really unfair to the developer. There's still time!. Fun, bugs in achievements. Several achievements are not registering progress, which is frustrating as I'm trying to go through all of them. It looks like I won't be able to complete them all because of this bug. I wish I could find a fix, but this is an old game, and I don't think they update anymore..
Game play is ruined with super sensitive controls. It's hard to press any of the options with out a stylus (even with a stylus it's hard to press on anything) If they can fix this issue, then I could go on playing this game all day.. So I loved the game but it doesn't work on my new phone. This seems to be an issue for a lot of folks. Kinda messed up that a company would take money for a game and not do the minimum to keep it functional..
Unplayable on a Moto 5. I used to play this game on an older device and the PC version many years ago. Downloaded and purchased this game from the Play Store, attempted to play, couldn't get anything to actually move or work. Tried to get a refund literally an hour later and Google refused to refund. Just FYI, don't bother downloading unless you are sure you won't mind losing the money on an unplayable game.. Purchased the game a few years ago, and have installed it on every phone since. Went to play today, first time on my Pixel 6 Pro, and it says to check for an update because it's for an older android version. Meaning it's going to be buggy and support has ended..
First turn of first game: got stuck in an infinite loop. Literally can't do anything except the same move continuously. I've been following the civilization franchise since civ 2, so I'll figure out how to debug the game and move on from there, but this is the worst initial experience I've ever gotten from a game I paid for. Great game amazing replayability been a long time player its a no adds no top-ups great time killer there is different stragity for each civilization and even same civilization with a different leader. Achieve each type of win with each civ is a daunting task but does keep you going knowing next game will be different..
Game is broken in many ways. The biggest issue imo is that CPU civs never "meet" each other due to a bug, so the entire diplomacy element from the original civ rev is gone here. This also means CPUs will never declare war on each other, which takes a lot of fun out of this one compared to the original. Also, google play achievements don't work on modern devices.. Used to be good. Now it is very difficult to do anything because the touchscreen does not allign with the game. I got an error message that is for an older version of Android. Game appears to be broken now. Bummer..
I love this game, I've played a lot the console version. Unfortunately, this version looks very abandoned (it was made for older android versions and it's not updated) plus it has a lot of bugs, like, my citizens never appears no matter what I do.... I've loved this game, from playing it on the PS3 to playing it on my phone, but I guess the developer has just decided to never update it, so now it doesn't work. It's a shame, because it really was a lot of fun..
With the plethora of trashy pay to play strategy games on play store I'm surprised people can't appreciate what this game has to offer. I was a huge fan of civ Rev on console and truly love this port, especially on a tablet. It light, fun and doesn't beat you down or ask you to pay for anything like every other new game out there these days. You definitely have to play on the harder settings to get any type of challenge out of the AI but still fun way to burn some time. I thank the devs!. This is generally a very solid port of civilisation revolution (a fun streamlined version of civilisation for consoles) and it offers a whole different class of complexity and strategy to most mobile games. - There are small bits of the game that feel unpolished (AI never acknowledging the existence of the others, improved resources not showing in the city screen, can't train infantry once special forces are available though infantry is better on defence) and it kills my battery + no updates.
I like the game but I find the combat a bit mad at times... I'd send a unit on an attack that I was sure would win and it dies miserably or vice versa some spearmen attack my tank and my tank somehow blows up.... So I did an experiment.... I saved the game before every combat.... The combat turned out the same every.... Single .... Time.... Predetermined games kinda suck..... Over all the game is good! A civ 4 feel on a mobile device. There are quite a few issues with the game however, many achievements don't work or don't work as intended. If you select the discus Current events the leaders never know each other even if they have been at war before. Or passed around the others territory. NPCs can capture spy and settler units without declaring war, if a player tryed it always declares war. If things were fixed easy 5 stars..
The game is fun but has many key issues, one is the inability to upgrade units besides a one use building that happens to be a wonder, if someone gets there first tough luck all those old legions and knights are worthless and cant be upgraded. Two, ais seem to have the ability to instantly build any unity, attacked a city 50 times with a tank army and somehow the enemy always had a fresh army/unit. Third, ais constantly demand technologies but you cant demand them from them. There are still more.
